The B.P.A. in Hindustani Vocal Music is a specialized undergraduate program focused on providing intensive training and theoretical knowledge in the classical Hindustani vocal tradition. This program is designed to develop skilled performers and educators in this rich musical form. Students receive rigorous practical training in various aspects of Hindustani vocal music, including raga (melodic framework), tala (rhythmic cycle), vilambit and drut compositions, alaps, taans, and different vocal forms such as Khayal, Dhrupad, Thumri, and Bhajan. The curriculum also encompasses the theoretical foundations of Hindustani music, including music history, aesthetics, acoustics, and the lives and contributions of eminent musicians.
